This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route will take you to the majestic Pic de Bassibès, covering a distance of 17.326 kilometers with an elevation gain of 982 meters. The total duration of the hike is estimated to be around 6 hours and 27 minutes.
Starting your journey at Mariailles, you will pass by various points of interest along the way. At the beginning of the trail, you will come across the Mariailles parking area. As you hike further, you will encounter the Croix de la Llipodère, a historic wayside cross located 2.66 kilometers from the start.
Midway through the hike, you will reach the Abri de Llipodera, an unguarded shelter situated 1.94 kilometers from the starting point. Additionally, you will find the Maison forestière de Mariailles, a wilderness hut located 0.11 kilometers away from the trail.
Continuing onwards, you will pass by the Collade de la Roquette, a natural saddle point located 2.62 kilometers from the start. Further ahead, you will reach the Col des Boucacers, another picturesque saddle point situated 5.67 kilometers from the beginning of the trail.
Near the end of the route, you will have the opportunity to admire the stunning peaks of the area, including the Pic des Sept Hommes, the Pic de Bassibès, the Roc de l'Aigle, and the Puig Roja.
Throughout the hike, it is essential to stay hydrated, so make sure to bring an an adequate supply of water. Additionally, as this is an extremely difficult trail, proper hiking gear and physical fitness are necessary.
