This hiking route takes you through a beautiful area with stunning views and challenging terrain. The route is an out-and-back trail with a total distance of 13.093 kilometers and an elevation gain of 210 meters, making it extremely difficult.
Your journey begins at the trailhead where you'll find a parking area. Make sure to leave your car in a safe spot before starting your hike. As you make your way along the trail, you'll come across the Cabane du col d'Artigascou, a wilderness hut located about 4.97 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to take a break and maybe even spend the night if you're doing a multi-day hike.
Continuing on, you'll reach the Col d'Artigascou, a saddle that is 4.79 kilometers from the start. This is a picturesque location where you can enjoy the surrounding natural beauty. Further along the trail, at a distance of 5.87 kilometers from the start, you'll come across another saddle called Col d'Artigau.
Finally, the highlight of the hike is reaching the Pic Plumieres peak, which is 6.55 kilometers from the start. The panoramic views from the top make the challenging trek well worth it.
As this hike is extremely difficult, make sure to come prepared with plenty of water, snacks, and proper hiking gear. It's also important to check the weather forecast before setting out, as conditions can change quickly in mountainous regions.
