This hiking route takes you to the summit of Sommet de Crouzille, standing at 1153 meters above sea level. The trail is an out-and-back route with a total distance of 7.559 kilometers and an elevation gain of 585 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take approximately 3 hours and 12 minutes to complete.
Starting at the designated parking area, you will follow the trail that begins at the base of the mountain. Along the way, you will pass by a camping site called Camping à la ferme de Verdun, located 0.95 kilometers from the start, where you can take a break and enjoy the natural surroundings.
As you continue on the trail, you will come across a fountain at 0.81 kilometers from the start, providing a refreshing spot to replenish your water supply. Further up the trail, at 2.77 kilometers from the start, you will reach a saddle known as Pas de Toulzan, offering a picturesque vantage point of the surrounding landscapes.
Midway through the hike, at 3.31 kilometers from the start, you will encounter another peak called Le Grand Simbal, adding to the scenic beauty of the route. Finally, after a challenging ascent, you will reach the summit of Sommet de Crouzille at 3.78 kilometers from the start, where you can marvel at the panoramic views from the highest point of the hike.
