Welcome to the hiking route to Vocabolo Eremita in Terni. This moderate 6.055-kilometer out-and-back trail offers a wonderful opportunity to explore the natural beauty and historic sites of the area.
At the beginning of the trail, you will find Carsulae, an ancient Roman archaeological site with well-preserved ruins, including the Teatro di età augustea, dating back to the Roman Empire. As you continue on the trail, you will come across three natural water sources, providing a refreshing stop along the way.
About 3.03 kilometers into the hike, you will encounter Pozzetto di Carsulae, a cave entrance located just a short distance from the trail. Further along, at a similar distance, you will find Grotta del Ticchetacche, another cave entrance worth exploring.
The trail features a total elevation gain of 240 meters and is estimated to take around 2 hours to complete. It is advisable to bring plenty of water, as well as snacks, and to check the weather forecast before embarking on this adventure.
