This hiking route will take you to Torre de Vigia in São Bartolomeu de Messines. The area is known for its historic ruins, such as the Torre de Vigia and Cruz Grande. The route starts at the parking area, where you can leave your car before heading out on the trail.

As you make your way along the trail, you will come across various points of interest. About 1 kilometer into the hike, you will find the ruins of a historic building. This site offers a glimpse into the area's past and provides a great photo opportunity.

Continuing on, you will reach a viewpoint after another kilometer, where you can take in stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Make sure to stop and enjoy the scenery before heading back on the trail.

At the peak of Penedo Grande, which is also about 1 kilometer away, you will have the chance to explore further and maybe even take a break to have a snack while enjoying the breathtaking views.

As you head back towards the starting point, you can stop by a café to grab a refreshment and relax before finishing the hike. This out-and-back route covers a distance of 3.262 kilometers with an elevation gain of 105 meters.
