This extremely difficult 12.307-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will take you to the breathtaking area of Bassa de Castillo. With an elevation gain of 528 meters, this trail is not for the faint of heart and is recommended for experienced hikers.
As you start your journey, you will come across various points of interest along the way. At the beginning of the trail, you will find the Fuente de la Balseta, a drinking water source where you can fill up your water bottles. Around the 1.23-kilometer mark, you will encounter the Bassa de Castillo, a beautiful water feature perfect for a serene break.
Further along the trail, at the 3.72-kilometer mark, you will find the Font de Molina, another natural spring to replenish your water supply. As you continue your hike, you will pass by the Alt de Molina, a peak with stunning views, located at the 3.68-kilometer mark.
For history enthusiasts, at around the 0.99-kilometer mark, you can explore the ruins of El Molinet. Additionally, at 1.02 kilometers, you will find the Nuestra Señora de la Cueva Santa, a wayside shrine with cultural significance.
Remember to bring plenty of water, snacks, and suitable hiking gear as this trail is challenging. Always check the weather forecast before embarking on your journey and be prepared for a strenuous but rewarding hike in the beautiful surroundings of Bassa de Castillo.
