Welcome to the hiking route at Les Aupieres! This challenging circular trail covers a distance of 12.868 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1118 meters, taking an estimated time of 5 hours and 46 minutes to complete. The route is rated as extremely difficult due to its length and steep inclines.
Starting off, you will find parking spaces available nearby to leave your vehicle before embarking on the trail. As you progress, you will come across the tranquil water sources located midway through the hike, perfect for a refreshing break. Be sure to bring enough water with you, as this is a strenuous trail.
Around the 4.72 kilometer mark, you will reach the picturesque Col des Estronques, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Further along, at approximately 5.11 kilometers into the hike, you will encounter the peak known as Tête de Jacquette, providing a breathtaking panoramic view of the area.
Throughout the trail, you will find informative points of interest such as Pont du Moulin and Le Bosquet, offering insight into the local history and attractions. Additionally, there are several drinking water stations available to refill your water bottles along the way.
As you near the end of the route, you will pass by Saint-Véran, a charming village with informational points about its cultural significance. Finally, you will return to the starting point at Les Aupieres, where you can relax and reflect on the challenging but rewarding journey you have completed.
