This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route will take you to the Prinz-Luitpold-Haus in a breathtaking alpine setting. With a total distance of 17.483 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1822 meters, this trail is not for the faint of heart.
Starting from the parking area, you will begin your journey through stunning mountain landscapes. Along the way, you will pass by the Landgasthof Adler restaurant, where you can fuel up before continuing on your adventure. As you trek onwards, you will encounter the Kreuzspitze peak, offering panoramic views of the surrounding area.
Around the 8.59 kilometer mark, you will reach a water source, providing a refreshing break before pushing on towards the Prinz-Luitpold-Haus at 8.74 kilometers. This alpine hut offers accommodation for weary hikers and is a great spot to rest and refuel.
Throughout the hike, you will come across benches and information points providing insights into the local flora, fauna, and history of the area. Additionally, make sure to check out the Kaskade waterfall at 7.92 kilometers, adding a touch of serenity to your adventure.
