This hiking route is an extremely difficult 15.166-kilometer circular trail that offers stunning views and challenging terrain. The trail starts at Hochzirl and takes you through breathtaking natural landscapes in the Freiungen area.
As you begin your journey, you'll pass by Goaßboden, a shelter located 0.52 kilometers from the start, where you can take a break and enjoy the surroundings. Further along the trail, at 1.18 kilometers from the start, you'll find a bench where you can rest and take in the views.
Heading towards the peak, you'll come across Freiungen (M), a peak located 7.49 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to pause and admire the panoramic vistas. Continuing on, you'll encounter Kuhljochscharte, a saddle 6.8 kilometers from the start, offering a unique viewpoint of the area.
As you make your way back, be sure to stop by Kreuzjöchl, a saddle located 6.11 kilometers from the start, and savor the last moments of your hike. With an elevation gain of 1342.0 meters, this trail is not for the faint of heart. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging adventure.
