This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area of Via Sacra di San Michele. The trail is 3.507 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 290 meters, making it a moderate difficulty hike. It is an out-and-back route, so you will be retracing your steps on the way back.
As you start your journey, you will come across a parking area at the beginning of the trail. Just a short distance from the start, you will find the Antica Cappella restaurant where you can grab a bite to eat before you begin your hike. About 0.1 kilometers into the hike, there is a drinking water stop to refill your water bottles.
Further along the trail, at around 1.67 kilometers, you will encounter another drinking water station to keep you hydrated. Just a bit ahead, at 1.75 kilometers, there is a peak called Il 52 where you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area. Additionally, there are various information points along the trail providing insights into the history and significance of the area.
As you make your way back, you can take a break at the Locanda del Pellegrino restaurant located 1.52 kilometers from the start. Make sure to check out the wayside shrine at the same location. Towards the end of the trail, you will find benches at 1.41 kilometers where you can rest and take in the scenery.
