This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Lago Piazzotti. The trail is a circular route with a total distance of 7.2 kilometers and an elevation gain of 747 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding hike.
As you start your journey, you will come across a couple of parking areas where you can leave your vehicle before starting the hike. Along the way, you will pass by a scenic viewpoint at around 2.82 kilometers from the start, where you can take a break and enjoy the breathtaking views.
Around 3.1 kilometers into the hike, you will find a water source where you can refill your water bottles and take a rest. Further along the trail, at 3.26 kilometers, you will reach Lago Piazzotti, a beautiful lake where you can relax and take in the tranquility of the surroundings.
For those looking for a longer break, the Rifugio Cesare Benigni alpine hut is located at around 3.01 kilometers from the start. Here, you can rest, grab a bite to eat, and maybe even spend the night before continuing your hike.
As you make your way back to the starting point, you will pass by Rocca di Pescegallo, a peak located 2.22 kilometers from the start, offering stunning panoramic views of the area.
