This hiking route will take you through the beautiful area surrounding Cima Ciantiplagna. With a total distance of 22.373 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1504 meters, this hike is considered extremely difficult and is not suitable for beginners.
As you start your journey, you will pass by Forte Gran Serin, a historic fort located 6.96 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. Further along the trail, at about 7.62 kilometers, you will encounter the ruins of an ancient site. As you continue, you will also come across a beautiful natural water feature, Lago Grande, located approximately 7.73 kilometers from the start of the trail.
Along the way, be sure to stay hydrated and bring enough water as some of the water sources may be off the trail. It is also advisable to check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging hike.
As you reach the halfway point, you will encounter Colle dell'Assietta, a natural saddle located 5.68 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
At the end of your journey, you will reach Cima Ciantiplagna, a peak that marks the turnaround point of this out-and-back route. Take your time to soak in the breathtaking views before heading back to the starting point.
