This hiking route takes you through the breathtaking area of Camino de Peña Citores to Peñalara in the Real Sitio de San Ildefonso. The 6.775-kilometer circular trail offers stunning views and a moderate level of difficulty with an elevation gain of 415 meters.

As you start your journey, you will come across the Venta Marcelino restaurant just 0.14 kilometers from the trailhead. This is a great spot to grab a bite to eat before you set off. Further along the trail at 0.33 kilometers, you'll find the Casa del Parque, where you can gather information about the surrounding area.

Midway through the hike at 3.32 kilometers, you'll reach the Hermana Menor peak, offering panoramic views of the landscape. Remember to bring plenty of water as there are drinking water sources like the Fuente Bernaldo Quirós (0.26 kilometers from the start) and the Fuente de ls Pájaros (2.11 kilometers from the start) along the way.

At the end of your journey, 2.16 kilometers from the start, you'll come across the picturesque saddle known as Puerto de Cotos, offering a perfect spot to rest and take in the surrounding beauty.
