This hiking route takes you through a picturesque area with stunning views and challenging terrain. The trail is an out-and-back type, with a total distance of 7.778 kilometers and an elevation gain of 106 meters, making it a difficult hike that will test your endurance.
As you start your journey, you will come across a parking area right at the beginning of the trail, making it convenient for you to park your vehicle and start your adventure. Approximately 0.26 kilometers into the hike, you will find SuDS, a water feature that adds a refreshing touch to your trek.
Midway through the hike, at around 1.09 kilometers from the start, you will encounter a tent area where you can take a break and enjoy a picnic, if you are planning to stay overnight. Further along the trail, at 1.58 kilometers, you will find an information point about the Speyside Way, offering insights into the local area.
At 3.3 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Waterloo Cairn, a historic memorial that provides a glimpse into the past. Continuing on, at 3.89 kilometers, you will reach two significant points of interest - the Duke of Gordons Monument and Torr Alvie, a peak that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
