This extremely difficult 15.182-kilometer out-and-back hiking route near Luz-Saint-Sauveur offers a challenging adventure for experienced hikers. The route has an elevation gain of 1344 meters, promising breathtaking views along the way.

Starting at the trailhead, hikers will pass by a wheelchair-accessible parking area before embarking on the journey. About 5.9 kilometers into the hike, you'll come across the "Cabane d Estarous" shelter, providing a nice resting spot for a break.

As you continue, you'll encounter the stunning Lac de Bastampe around the 7.59-kilometer mark, offering a serene setting for a picturesque stop. Along the trail, there are drinking water stations for your convenience at various points, including one at 0.05 kilometers and another at 1.42 kilometers from the start.
