This challenging hiking route will take you to the Cabane de Maucapera in the picturesque area of Pont de la Crabiou. The total distance of the out-and-back trail is 8.172 kilometers with an elevation gain of 630 meters, so be prepared for a workout.

As you begin your journey, you'll come across a convenient parking area right at the start of the trail. Make sure to pack plenty of water and snacks, as the route can take around 3 hours and 28 minutes to complete. The trail will lead you through beautiful wilderness areas, where you may spot wildlife along the way.

About 0.63 kilometers into the hike, you'll find a peaceful water source for a refreshing break. Further along the trail, at 1.52 kilometers, you'll encounter the Cabane Peyrahitte shelter, a welcoming spot to rest and enjoy the surroundings.

Around the midway point of 4.09 kilometers, you'll find another water source before reaching the Cabane de Maucapera. This wilderness hut provides a rustic accommodation option and is a great place to take in the stunning views of the area.
