The hiking route to Los Picatos is an extremely difficult 13.259-kilometer out-and-back trail with an elevation gain of 491 meters. The duration for this hike is approximately 4 hours and 17 minutes.

Starting at the trailhead, you will find a parking area conveniently located at the beginning of the route. As you make your way along the trail, you will encounter several points of interest. Around 3.39 kilometers from the start, you'll reach a peak with stunning views. Further along at 5.91 kilometers, another peak awaits to be explored.

Be sure to take a break at Collado Llano, a saddle located 6.5 kilometers into the hike. Continuing on, you'll discover another peak at 6.39 kilometers and then another at 6.63 kilometers. As you head back, don't miss Collado del Lobo, a saddle located 1.42 kilometers from the starting point.
