The Tiroler Höhenweg Wipptal hike is an extremely difficult out-and-back route that spans a distance of 12.656 kilometers with an elevation gain of 792 meters. The total duration for this challenging hike is approximately 4 hours and 54 minutes.
The route begins at the parking area near the trail, providing easy access for hikers. As you start your journey, you will come across the Bar Marktbar, a cafe located right on the trail, offering a convenient spot to grab a snack before continuing on your adventure.
Further along the trail, at a distance of 2.17 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Stein-Alm - Malga Sasso alpine hut. This scenic location serves as a perfect resting point for hikers to take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding area.
As you continue on, you'll pass by the ex Caserma Guardia di Finanza "Malga Sasso" ruins at 2.35 kilometers from the start, adding a touch of historical interest to your hike.
Midway through the journey, at around 6.33 kilometers from the start, you will encounter the Wechseljoch saddle, providing a picturesque spot to rest and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
