CAI 301

This challenging 6.982-kilometer circular hiking route, known as CAI 301, will take you through a scenic area with an elevation gain of 571 meters. The estimated duration for this hike is approximately 3 hours.

Starting from the parking area at the trailhead, you will soon come across a drinking water point, which is essential to stay hydrated throughout the hike. As you make your way along the trail, you will pass by the ruins of Castrum, providing a glimpse into the area's historical significance.

Continuing on, you will reach Santa Maria dei Monti, an alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy the picturesque surroundings. Further along the trail, you will encounter more ruins, namely Il Castello, adding to the historical charm of the route.

For a breathtaking viewpoint, make sure to visit Belvedere del Mustaculo, although it is slightly off the main trail. Additionally, the Belvedere viewpoint offers stunning panoramic views of the landscape.

As you approach the midway point of the hike, you will find another alpine hut, Santa Maria dei Monti, where you can rest and refuel before completing the loop. Towards the end of the trail, you will pass by another viewpoint, simply named Belvedere, offering a different perspective of the surroundings.
