This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route takes you to the stunning peak of Otsogorritxipia in the beautiful area of Pays Basque. The 12.4-kilometer trail has an elevation gain of 1256 meters, promising a challenging yet rewarding experience for seasoned hikers.
As you begin your journey, you'll come across the Cayolar de Pista Pékoa wilderness hut, situated 1.75 kilometers from the start, offering a picturesque resting spot along the trail. Further along, at a distance of 0.53 kilometers from the start, you'll find an information point providing valuable insights into the surrounding area.
Midway through the hike, at approximately 4.33 kilometers from the start, you'll reach the Üthürurdineta portilloa saddle, offering panoramic views of the landscape. Nearby, at a distance of 1.9 kilometers from the start, is the Cascade de Pista waterfall, a perfect spot to relax and refuel.
Continuing onwards, you'll encounter the Otsogorritxipia peak at 6.21 kilometers from the start, providing a challenging ascent and unparalleled views from the summit. Nearby, you'll also find the Tumulus Otxogorritxipia archaeological site, offering a glimpse into the area's historical significance.
As you approach the endpoint of the hike, be sure to stop by the drinking water point located 2.68 kilometers from the start to refill your water supply.
