This extremely difficult 17.893-kilometer circular hike on the Route des Plaines will take you through stunning landscapes and challenging terrains in the area.
Starting at Place de la Mairie, you'll pass by a parking area before reaching the beautiful Bassin du Parc, where you can take a break and enjoy the surrounding nature. About midway through the hike, you'll come across a drinking water fountain at Fontaine to refill your water supplies.
As you continue on the trail, you'll reach Col d'Abraham, offering breathtaking views of the surroundings. Make sure to stop and rest at the bench near Rocher d'Abraham for a well-deserved break. Further ahead, you'll encounter the memorial at Jean Gilly and the artwork by Jean Gilly, adding a cultural touch to your hike.
Towards the end of the trail, at Rocher d'Abraham viewpoint, you'll be treated to panoramic vistas before making your way back to the starting point at Place de la Mairie.
With an elevation gain of 1001 meters, this hike is not for the faint-hearted. Ensure you are well-prepared with plenty of water, snacks, and proper hiking gear.
