This hiking route will take you to the majestic Sonnenspitze, located in a beautiful mountainous area. With a total distance of 12.9 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1074 meters, this trail is rated as extremely difficult, so be prepared for a challenging but rewarding adventure.

As you start your hike, you will pass by a parking area where you can leave your vehicle before hitting the trail. About 1.4 kilometers into the hike, you'll come across the Peeralm restaurant, a perfect spot to grab a meal or a snack before continuing your journey.

Midway through the hike, at around 5.7 kilometers, you'll reach Naviser Jöchl, a stunning saddle where you can take in the panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Along the way, you'll also encounter various points of interest such as water sources, rock formations, and historic landmarks like the wayside cross and wayside shrine.

At approximately 6.5 kilometers, you'll reach the peak of Sonnenspitze, offering breathtaking views as a rewarding end point of your journey. Don't forget to check out the alternative peak, Sonnenspitze Alternativgipfel, for a different perspective.
