This challenging 11.5-kilometer circular hiking route will take you through the stunning alpine scenery of St. Pöltner Hütte - Trassensteig (NFG).
Starting at the parking space located at the trailhead, you will begin your journey into the wilderness. Along the way, you will come across a historical site, with ruins dating back to a bygone era, situated 2.03 kilometers from the start. This will give you a glimpse into the rich history of the region.
As you continue on the trail, you will encounter a beautiful alpine hut, the St. Pöltner Hütte, located 4.81 kilometers from the start. This cozy accommodation offers a perfect spot to rest and refuel before continuing on your trek.
Midway through the hike, at 4.32 kilometers from the start, you will find a refreshing water source, providing a much-needed break for hikers to rehydrate and enjoy the surrounding natural beauty.
Towards the end of the route, at 4.83 kilometers from the start, you will reach Felber Tauern, a picturesque saddle offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
With an elevation gain of 685 meters, this difficult hike is not for the faint of heart. Be sure to come prepared with plenty of water, snacks, and proper hiking gear.
