The Tai Po Kau Forest Track – Kon Hang Section is a beautiful hiking route located in the Tai Po District. This out-and-back trail covers a distance of approximately 4.2 kilometers with an elevation gain of 230 meters, making it an easy hike suitable for hikers of all levels.
As you start your journey, you will come across parking areas at the beginning of the trail. These parking spots are conveniently located for hikers who are driving to the trailhead. As you make your way along the trail, you will encounter natural rock formations that add to the scenic beauty of the surroundings. Around 0.1 kilometers into the hike, you will find another interesting rock formation nearby.
Midway through the trail, there is a shelter where you can take a break and rest before continuing your hike. This shelter provides a nice spot to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. Further along the trail, you will come across informative signs that offer insights into the local flora, fauna, and history of the area.
Towards the end of the trail, you will reach a saddle point with stunning views of the surroundings. This is a great spot to take in the panoramic views before making your way back along the same route. Along the way back, you can stop at the picnic site located at a distance of 0.86 kilometers from the start of the trail.
