Located in the stunning El Jou area, this extremely difficult 9.105-kilometer out-and-back hiking route offers a challenging adventure for seasoned hikers. With an elevation gain of 1274 meters, this trail is not for the faint of heart.
Starting at the parking area at the trailhead, hikers will make their way through the rugged terrain, passing by informative sites such as Vega de Asotín at 2.64 kilometers from the start. As you continue your journey, you'll encounter peaks like the one at 1.16 kilometers from the start and Peña del Porrecho at 0.86 kilometers from the start.
Make sure to stay hydrated along the way, with a drinking water station conveniently located just 0.01 kilometers from the starting point. Although some points of interest are off the main trail, be sure to keep an eye out for peaks like the one at 2.73 kilometers from the start and Lago Bajero at 4.5 kilometers from the start.
As you push yourself through the challenging terrain, remember to check the weather forecast before setting out and bring plenty of water and snacks. The breathtaking views and sense of accomplishment at the end of this demanding hike make it all worth the effort.
