Welcome to the North Fortuna hike! This moderate 6.924-kilometer out-and-back trail will take you through beautiful natural surroundings with an elevation gain of 282 meters.
You will start at the Old Mission Dam Trailhead, located right at the beginning of the trail. As you make your way, you will pass by the Park Information and Drinking Water points, perfect for a quick stop to refuel and gather information about the area.
About midway through the hike, you will reach Fortuna Saddle, offering a picturesque view of the surrounding landscape. Further along, you will encounter North Fortuna Mountain and North Fortuna peaks, both providing stunning panoramic views of the area.
Just 0.12 kilometers away from the trail, you will find a water source, ideal for filling up your water bottle. Additionally, there is a viewpoint 0.62 kilometers from the start, offering a great spot to take in the scenery.
Remember to bring plenty of water, as the hike can be challenging at times. Be sure to check the weather forecast before heading out and wear appropriate footwear for the terrain.
