This challenging hiking route will take you on an out-and-back journey to the Refuge de Folly, located in a picturesque area with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The total distance of the hike is 7.515 kilometers with an elevation gain of 552 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding adventure.
Starting at Le Crêt parking area, you will begin your journey towards the Refuge de Folly. Along the way, you will come across several points of interest including the ruins of Dalle du Tuet and Le Grand Chable, as well as the fountain at a distance of 0.38 kilometers from the start.
As you continue on the trail, you will pass by the information points at Le Cret and Accès falaise du Grand Chable, providing you with interesting insights about the area. Make sure to stop by the Pont des Barmes at 2.06 kilometers from the start to take in the scenic views.
Midway through the hike, you will reach the Refuge du Folly at 3.74 kilometers from the start, where you can take a break and enjoy the alpine hut. Don't forget to refill your water bottles at the nearby spring at 3.17 kilometers from the start.
Towards the end of the hike, you will encounter the cave entrance at 2.18 kilometers from the start, adding a sense of adventure to your journey. Finally, you will reach the endpoint at the Refuge de Folly, where you can relax and take in the breathtaking views before making your way back.
