Hiking : Monte Campeon

Italy Friuli – Venezia Giulia Udine

This moderate 5.59-kilometer circular hike will take you to explore the beautiful area of Monte Campeon. The route has an elevation gain of 315 meters and is expected to take around 2 hours and 4 minutes to complete.

As you start your journey, you will come across the parking area at Sammardenchia, located right at the beginning of the trail. Further along, you will reach Troi de memorie, an information point where you can learn more about the surroundings.

During the hike, you will pass by Pignarul viewpoint, offering a stunning panoramic view of the area. Make sure to take a moment to admire the scenery before continuing. As you reach the midway point, you will encounter Monte Campeon, a peak that provides a great vantage point for taking in the surrounding landscape.

Towards the end of the hike, you may come across some historic ruins at Ricovero militare, adding a touch of the region's past to your adventure.
