This extremely difficult hiking route takes you through the stunning Vieux Chaillol area. The trail spans a total distance of 20.778 kilometers and includes an elevation gain of 1782 meters, making it a challenging but rewarding trek.
As you begin your journey, you will come across the Refuge du Tourond, an alpine hut located approximately 3.03 kilometers from the start of the trail. This is a great spot to take a break and soak in the beautiful surroundings.
Further along the route, at around 8.86 kilometers from the start, you will find the Cabane des Parisiens shelter where you can rest and refuel before continuing on your adventure.
As you make your way towards the Col de Cote Longue and Col de Riou Beyrou saddles (8.54 and 8.83 kilometers from the start respectively), you will be treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the area.
Throughout the hike, be sure to stay hydrated as there are several water points along the trail, such as natural water sources located at various distances from the trail.
Finally, the route culminates at the Vieux Chaillol peak, which is approximately 10.39 kilometers from the start. Here, you can enjoy a sense of accomplishment as you take in the awe-inspiring vistas from the summit.
