This extremely difficult hiking route will take you on an out-and-back journey to the stunning Pics de Font Negra in Andorra. The 19.98-kilometer trail with an elevation gain of 944 meters offers breathtaking views and a challenging terrain for experienced hikers.
Starting at the trailhead, you will pass by the peaceful Lac de Vinyoles around 7.81 kilometers from the beginning. This is a perfect spot to rest and take in the natural beauty of the area. As you continue, you'll come across the Cabane de la Mine at 5.27 kilometers, a shelter where you can seek refuge or have a quick snack.
At the halfway point, you will reach the Pics de Font Negra, a prominent peak standing tall at 9.99 kilometers into the hike. The panoramic views from this vantage point are absolutely worth the uphill climb. Additionally, you'll encounter the Coll de l'Orri de la Vinyola at 8.76 kilometers, a scenic saddle offering a unique perspective of the surrounding landscape.
Before heading back, make sure to refuel at the Pic Mari restaurant, located 0.07 kilometers from the start of the trail. This is a great place to grab a meal and replenish your energy for the return journey.
Throughout the hike, be sure to stay hydrated and carry enough water as there are limited facilities along the route.
