This extremely difficult hiking route takes you on a 14.645-kilometer journey with an elevation gain of 2348 meters. The trail is an out-and-back type, starting at the parking area (fee: no) at the beginning of the route.
As you begin your hike, you'll soon come across the SP76 Ponte sul rio Bianco, a bridge, and information point just 0.01 kilometers from the start. About 1.82 kilometers into the hike, you'll find a natural spring where you can replenish your water supply. Further along at 2.06 kilometers, there is the Bivacco C.A.I. Gorizia shelter and another information point with access to drinking water.
Around the 3.77-kilometer mark, you'll encounter the Capanna Re di Sassonia - Guido Brunner wilderness hut for a possible break. Continuing on, at approximately 4.34 kilometers, you'll reach the Forcella del Vallone saddle.
Midway through the hike at 6.54 kilometers, you'll find the Ferrata Anita Goitan via ferrata for those seeking an extra thrill. Further ahead at 7.2 kilometers, there is the Torre della Madre dei Camosci peak and the Innominata peak at 7.32 kilometers, adding stunning views to your journey.
Throughout the route, you will pass by various peaks and saddles, providing picturesque landscapes and challenging terrain. Remember to check the weather forecast before setting off, bring plenty of water, and be prepared for a physically demanding hike.
