Dolič - Triglav - Dolič - Triglav

This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route will take you through the stunning alpine landscapes of Dolič and Triglav. The 22.5-kilometer trail boasts an elevation gain of 2057 meters, making it a challenging adventure for experienced hikers.

Your journey will start at the trailhead, where you'll find parking facilities nearby. As you trek along the trail, you'll encounter various points of interest. At the beginning of the hike, you'll come across the Aljažev dom v Vratih, an alpine hut where you can rest and refuel. Further along the trail, you'll reach the Šlajmerjev dom v Vratih, another alpine hut providing accommodation options.

As you continue on, you'll pass by the Bivak pod Luknjo shelter and the Planinski dom Napoleone Cozzi ruins. Make sure to stop and admire the historic Gemona ruins and the Nekdanja vojašnica Gemona Superiore on your way.

Midway through the hike, you'll reach the Koča na Doliču alpine hut, offering a welcoming place to relax and enjoy the views. Don't forget to visit the Luknja saddle and the Spomenik padlim partizanom gornikom memorial for a moment of reflection.

Along the trail, you'll also find several springs for fresh water refills and information points providing insights into the local area. Take in the natural beauty of the surroundings, including rocky formations and peaks like Gemona and Tominjškova pot.

As you near the end of the route, you'll pass by the Sedlo saddle before reaching the peak of Triglav, the highest mountain in Slovenia. Here, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
