This hiking route will take you to the beautiful area of Tête du Planay, offering stunning views and challenging terrain. The trail is an out-and-back route with a total distance of approximately 5.9 kilometers and an elevation gain of 610 meters, making it a difficult hike that is suitable for experienced hikers.
As you start your journey, you will come across the La Dandry parking area, located right at the beginning of the trail. About 0.82 kilometers into the hike, you will find Le Refuge, where you can take a break and grab a bite to eat. Continuing on, at around 0.3 kilometers from the start, you will reach Les Bruyères restaurant, another great spot to rest and refuel.
Midway through the hike, at approximately 2.98 kilometers from the start, you will come across the Décollage FFVL Tete du Planay, an official free-flying site where you can watch paragliders take off. Just a bit further, at the same distance, you will reach Tête du Planay peak, offering panoramic views of the surrounding area.
On the way back, at about 1.86 kilometers from the start, you will find Le Chanté information point, providing insights about the area. As you near the end of the trail, at 0.33 kilometers from the start, you will encounter more informational points that will enhance your hiking experience.
