This extremely difficult 12.606-kilometer out-and-back hiking route in the Gavarnie-Gèdre area offers a challenging adventure for experienced hikers. The trail starts at a convenient parking area and leads you through stunning natural landscapes.
Along the way, you will encounter several points of interest. At the beginning of the trail, you will pass by "Le Garlitz," a cafe where you can grab a snack or a drink before starting your hike. As you continue on, you will come across "Lac de Cap-de-Long," a beautiful lake located 1.07 kilometers from the start of the trail. Further along, at around 4.07 kilometers from the start, you will reach "Hourquelle de Bugarret," a scenic saddle offering breathtaking views of the surroundings.
Halfway through the hike, approximately 5.21 kilometers from the start, you will find "Lac de Bugarret," another picturesque lake that is perfect for a rest stop and some beautiful photo opportunities. Additionally, there are several water points along the trail for you to refill your water bottles and stay hydrated.
As you approach the end of the trail, around 6.3 kilometers from the start, you will encounter more tranquil water spots and natural spring points to enjoy. The hike concludes back at the starting point, providing you with a challenging and rewarding outdoor experience.
