This extremely difficult 22.467 kilometers out-and-back hiking route will take you through the stunning Haute-Ariege region. The trail features an elevation gain of 1353 meters and is estimated to take around 8 hours and 34 minutes to complete.
Starting at Parking Ste Suzanne, you will begin your journey through the picturesque landscape. Along the way, you will encounter several points of interest. At the beginning of the trail, you will find a drinking water source, perfect for refilling your water bottles before embarking on the challenging hike ahead.
As you continue on, you'll come across the beautiful Cascade du Taureau waterfall, nestled just 3.51 kilometers from the start. This tranquil spot offers a great place to rest and take in the natural beauty surrounding you.
Further along the trail, at a distance of 6.16 kilometers from the start, you'll reach the Cabane du Siscar shelter. This cozy refuge provides a welcome break for weary hikers looking to recharge before continuing on their journey.
Midway through the hike, at a distance of 10.51 kilometers from the start, you'll reach the stunning Pic de la Cabaneta peak. The panoramic views from this vantage point are truly breathtaking and worth the challenging ascent.
At the end of the trail, situated 11.23 kilometers from the start, you will find the Roc Mele peak, offering a sense of accomplishment and a perfect spot to savor the beauty of the Haute-Ariege region.
