Welcome to the hiking route to Zumarrako Gaina!
This easy out-and-back trail spans 4.631 kilometers with an elevation gain of 112 meters, making it a great option for hikers of all levels. The estimated duration for this hike is 1 hour and 21 minutes.
The trail starts at a parking area and as you begin your journey, you'll come across several points of interest. About halfway through the hike, you'll encounter the monument "Aita Donostiari oroitarria" and the archaeological sites "Cromlechs Agiña Hegoalde 1–3" and "Cromlechs Agiña Erdialde 1-3". These historical sites provide a glimpse into the past and add a cultural element to your hike.
As you continue on, you'll reach the Dolmen Agiña, another archaeological site situated just 0.02 kilometers from the trail. Further along, at 1.8 kilometers from the start, you'll find the Ikatzulo picnic site and a drinking water station, perfect for a break and refueling.
At around 0.77 kilometers from the start, you'll encounter the Cromlech tumular Agiña Soroa and the Túmulo Agiña. These archaeological sites offer a deeper insight into the region's history.
As you approach the end of the trail, at 1.35 kilometers from the start, you'll reach the peak of Ikatzuloko Bizkarra. Finally, the highlight of the hike is the Zumarrako Gaina viewpoint, located 2.32 kilometers from the start. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, making it the perfect spot to relax before heading back.
