This challenging hiking route will take you to the beautiful Zunterkopf peak, offering stunning views of the surrounding area. The trail is an out-and-back type, with a total distance of 5.755 kilometers and an elevation gain of 744 meters. The estimated duration for this hike is around 3 hours and 11 minutes.

As you start your journey, you will come across a historic wayside cross at a distance of 0.12 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. Further along the path, at 1.94 kilometers in, you will find another historic wayside cross, adding a cultural dimension to your adventure.

Midway through the hike, at 2.88 kilometers, you will reach the Zunterkopf peak, the highlight of the trail. Take some time to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views from this vantage point.

Although there are a few points of interest slightly off the main trail, such as a waterfall and a cave entrance, the majority of the route stays on the main path towards the peak.

As this is a difficult hike with significant elevation gain, make sure to come prepared with proper hiking gear, sufficient water, and snacks. It is also advisable to check the weather forecast before embarking on this journey to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
