The Stubaier Höhenweg is an extremely difficult and challenging hiking route that spans over 16 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1171 meters. This out-and-back trail offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area and is recommended for experienced hikers looking for a thrilling adventure.
Starting at the Parkplatz Ruetz Katarakt, hikers will begin their journey along the trail. About 1.84 kilometers into the hike, you'll come across the Bsuchalm, a rustic restaurant where you can take a break and fuel up before continuing your trek. As you make your way further along the trail, you'll pass by Katharinas und Roberts Bänkla, where you can stop and rest on a bench while taking in the beautiful scenery.
Midway through the hike, at around 5.72 kilometers, you'll reach the Nürnberger Hütte, an alpine hut where you can stay overnight and enjoy a hearty meal. This is a great spot to refuel and recharge before heading back on the trail.
On the way back, you'll encounter various points of interest such as the Aussichtsplattform Langetaler Wasserfall, a viewpoint where you can admire the stunning Langetaler Waterfall. Additionally, there are several information points and benches scattered along the trail for hikers to take a break and learn more about the area.
