This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area around Azkenatz peak. The trail is 4.786 kilometers long and has an elevation gain of 306 meters, making it a moderate difficulty hike. It is an out-and-back route, meaning you will retrace your steps on the way back.
As you start the hike, you will pass by a parking area before reaching Dolmen Matrakola, an archaeological site located 0.66 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. Further along the trail at 0.7 kilometers, you will come across Túmulo Ermitako Lepoa 1 and Túmulo Ermitako Lepoa 2, followed by Cromlechs Ermitako Lepoa 1-2 at the same distance mark. These historic sites offer a glimpse into the area's ancient past.
About midway through the hike, at 1.2 kilometers from the start, you will reach the peak of Aldegi, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. As you continue on, you will encounter Menhir Ermitako Lepoa at 0.62 kilometers from the start, adding to the historical significance of the trail.
