This extremely difficult 15.1-kilometer circular hiking route in the area of Calle de la Hoya - Calle de la Hoya offers a challenging adventure for experienced hikers. The trail has an elevation gain of 782 meters and takes approximately 5 hours and 27 minutes to complete.
Starting at the trailhead, hikers will first come across the Zona Arqueológica el Tepozteco, an archaeological site located 1.04 kilometers from the start. This ancient site provides a fascinating glimpse into the region's history. Further along the trail, at 7.29 kilometers, you'll find a natural water source, perfect for refilling your water bottles.
Throughout the hike, you'll encounter various ruins, such as Templo de Tepoztecatl, giving you insight into the area's past. Be sure to take in the stunning views from viewpoints like Cerro del Tepozteco and Mirador Tepozteco, located at 1.04 kilometers and 0.76 kilometers from the start, respectively.
