Welcome to the hiking route in the Hans Wödl area of Untertalstraße! This circular trail is approximately 19.92 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 1497.0 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike. It is recommended for experienced hikers who are prepared for a challenging adventure.
As you embark on this journey, you will encounter various points of interest along the way. At the beginning of the trail, you will come across the beautiful Riesachsee, located 2.43 kilometers from the starting point. This stunning natural water feature offers a picturesque stop to admire the surrounding scenery.
As you continue on, you will pass by the Gasthof Zum Riesachfall, a restaurant conveniently located just 0.05 kilometers from the trail. This is a great spot to refuel and take a break before continuing your trek.
Further along the route, at approximately 1.64 kilometers from the start, you will find the Gföller Alm, an alpine hut where you can rest and enjoy some local hospitality.
Throughout the hike, you will also encounter several water points, such as the Unterer Klippensee, Mittlerer Klippensee, and Winkelsee, providing opportunities to cool off and quench your thirst.
Additionally, make sure to check out the impressive Kleiner Riesachfall and Großer Riesachfall waterfalls, located 0.27 kilometers and 0.64 kilometers from the start, respectively. These natural wonders offer a refreshing and scenic pause during your journey.
