This hiking route takes you through the stunning natural beauty of the GR 11 - nueva variante area. The 7.55-kilometer circular route offers a challenging hike with an elevation gain of 574 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding trek for experienced hikers.
As you commence your journey, you will pass by the Refugio Casa de Piedra, a cozy alpine hut located just 0.2 kilometers from the start of the trail. This is a great spot to take a quick break and enjoy the surrounding scenery.
As you trek further, you will come across several water features including the Embalse de Bachimaña Bajo and various waterfalls along the way. Be sure to bring plenty of water and stay hydrated during your hike, especially if you plan on tackling the entire route.
Around the midway point of the hike, you will reach the Refugio de los Ibones de Bachimaña, another alpine hut where you can rest and refuel before continuing your adventure. This hut is approximately 3.36 kilometers from the start of the trail.
Throughout the hike, you will also encounter multiple viewpoints such as Cascada, Mirador del Balneario, and Mirador del Pino, offering stunning vistas of the surrounding landscape.
As you make your way back to the starting point, take note of the various information points and drinking water stations conveniently located along the trail to keep you well-informed and hydrated.
