Located in the Čez Starko region, this challenging hiking route covers a distance of 7.582 kilometers with an elevation gain of 545 meters. The estimated duration for completing this trail is around 3 hours and 7 minutes, making it a difficult trek suitable for experienced hikers.
As you embark on this out-and-back trail, you will encounter several points of interest along the way. Starting from the trailhead, you will come across the Bar-Picerija Špajza restaurant at the beginning of the hike, providing a convenient spot to grab some food or drinks before setting off. Further along the trail, you will pass by the Hram pri Aljažu pub, a great place to rest and refuel mid-hike.
As you continue your journey, make sure to check out the Kapelica wayside shrine and the Spomenik Jakobu Aljažu memorial site, both offering a glimpse into the historic significance of the area. For nature enthusiasts, the Blažčeva skala peak and Mala Blažčeva skala peak provide stunning panoramic views and a great photo opportunity at the midway point.
Towards the end of the trail, you will find the viewpoint at Žovležn, offering a breathtaking vantage point of the surrounding landscape. Additionally, make sure to stop by the viewpoint at the peak during your return journey for one last look at the remarkable scenery.
Remember to bring an ample water supply, wear sturdy hiking shoes, and check the weather forecast before starting your adventure. This hike is not recommended for beginners due to its length and elevation gain, so be prepared for a challenging but rewarding experience in the Čez Starko region.
