This hiking route will take you to Cerro Guanaco, a peak located in a beautiful natural area. The trail is an out-and-back type, covering a total distance of 13.541 kilometers with an elevation gain of 645 meters. The estimated duration for this hike is around 4 hours and 45 minutes, making it extremely difficult due to its length and elevation.
As you start your hike, you will come across "Parking" area at the beginning of the trail. Make sure to park your vehicle here before starting your journey. About 0.44 kilometers into the hike, you will encounter a "Saddle" where you can take a short break and enjoy the scenic views.
Continuing on, at approximately 1.72 kilometers from the start, you will find the "Ruedas de Larmahue" memorial off the trail. This historic site is worth exploring if you have the time. Nearby, there is also a "Fountain" located at the same distance, providing a refreshing stop for hikers.
Midway through the hike, at around 6.77 kilometers from the start, you will reach the highlight of the route, Cerro Guanaco peak. Take your time to appreciate the stunning views from the top before heading back.
