This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route towards Tête Rouge offers a challenging but rewarding experience for seasoned hikers. The trail spans approximately 12.566 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1020 meters, taking an estimated duration of 5 hours and 27 minutes to complete.
Starting at the trailhead, hikers will first pass by the Refuge de Plaisance, an alpine hut located 2.67 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. As you continue on, you'll encounter the Col de Plan Séry around the midway point of the hike at 6.13 kilometers from the start.
