Welcome to the Camino del Calvario hiking route!
Located in a beautiful natural area, this 4.508-kilometer circular trail offers a relatively easy hike with an elevation gain of 76.0 meters, making it suitable for hikers of all levels.
As you start your journey, you will come across the Embalse de Navalmedio, a picturesque water reservoir located 1.24 kilometers from the trailhead. This is a great spot to take in the scenic views and maybe even have a quick break before continuing on.
Further along the trail, at the 0.48-kilometer mark, you'll encounter some historic ruins, providing a glimpse into the area's past. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the history of the region.
Additionally, at various points along the trail, you'll find peaks and saddles offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. These natural features are perfect for a photo opportunity or just to pause and appreciate the beauty of the area.
It is recommended to bring plenty of water, especially on warmer days, as some of the peaks and saddles may not have readily available drinking water sources nearby. Additionally, checking the weather forecast before heading out is always a good idea to ensure a safe and enjoyable hiking experience.
As you reach the end of the trail, you'll circle back to the starting point, where you can reflect on the beautiful sights and experiences you encountered along the Camino del Calvario route.
