This hiking route will take you to the beautiful area of Pizzo delle Segade, offering stunning views and a challenging terrain for hikers. The route is an out-and-back trail with a total distance of approximately 12.977 kilometers and an elevation gain of 953 meters, making it extremely difficult in terms of difficulty level.
As you start your journey, you will come across several points of interest along the trail. At the beginning of the hike, you will find a fountain where you can refill your water bottles. Further along the trail, about 1.8 kilometers from the start, there is an information point providing insights into the area's history and natural features.
As you continue your ascent, you will reach the Bivacco Alberto Zamboni wilderness hut, located approximately 3.03 kilometers from the start, offering a place to rest and take in the surroundings. Additionally, at around 2.77 kilometers from the start, you will find the Rifugio Marco Balicco all'Azzaredo alpine hut.
Midway through the hike, you will encounter Passo Della Porta, a natural saddle point providing a scenic spot to pause and appreciate the landscape. For those in need of a break, there are drinking water sources along the trail at various points.
Towards the end of the trail, at approximately 6.49 kilometers from the start, you will reach the peak of Pizzo delle Segade, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area. However, if you're up for more exploration, you can venture off-trail to Picco della Porta, located 3.86 kilometers from the start.
It is important to note that this hike is considered extremely difficult due to its length and elevation gain. It is recommended to come prepared with proper hiking gear, sufficient water, and snacks.
