This hiking route to Torkopf is located in a beautiful alpine area, offering stunning views and a challenging adventure for experienced hikers. The trail is an out-and-back type, totaling approximately 15.757 kilometers in distance with an elevation gain of 948 meters, making it extremely difficult in terms of difficulty. The estimated duration for this hike is around 6 hours.
As you begin your journey, you will come across the Faulbaumgarten Alm alpine hut, situated 3.29 kilometers from the start of the trail, providing a picturesque spot to rest and enjoy some refreshments. Further along the path, at about 7.27 kilometers into the hike, you will reach the Steinberggruber water source, where you can replenish your supplies.
Midway through the hike, at approximately 7.88 kilometers, you will reach the Torkopf peak, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. As you continue on your way back, you will pass by the Steinberggruber water source again, providing another opportunity to rest and hydrate.
Throughout the trail, you will encounter various points of interest such as wayside crosses, benches for relaxation, information points, and additional water sources to keep you fueled and informed.
