Welcome to the Schützensteig hiking route. This extremely difficult 13.925 km trail with an elevation gain of 912.0 meters will challenge even the most experienced hikers. The estimated duration for this hike is 5 hours and 30 minutes, so make sure to start early in the day.

Starting at the parking lot located right at the trailhead, you will begin your journey towards the first point of interest. As you make your way along the trail, you will come across a historic wayside cross at 0.35 km from the start, providing a glimpse into the area's cultural heritage.

Further along the route, at 1.52 km from the start, you will find a bench where you can take a moment to rest and enjoy the surrounding natural beauty. Continuing onward, at 6.46 km from the start, you will reach Heimjoch (Mareitkopf), a peak offering breathtaking panoramic views of the landscape.

As you push through the challenging terrain, at 6.96 km from the start, you will encounter a water source, providing a refreshing break before continuing on your journey. Additionally, at 0.35 km from the start, there is an information point where you can learn more about the area's flora and fauna.
