This hiking route takes you through the stunning wilderness of the Punta di Prato Pulito area. The 20.441-kilometer long trail offers a challenging yet rewarding experience with an elevation gain of 1232 meters, making it extremely difficult and suitable for experienced hikers.
As you embark on this out-and-back journey, you will come across several points of interest along the way. Starting at the parking area, you will soon reach Fonte Cagnolini, a natural spring located 0.83 kilometers from the start. Further along the trail, at the 3.3-kilometer mark, you will find Fontana Ghezzi, another refreshing spring perfect for a quick rest.
Continuing your trek, you will encounter Valle delle Fonti, a picturesque valley with yet another spring at a distance of 2.23 kilometers from the start. The trail also passes by the stunning peaks of Cima del Redentore, Cima del Lago, Cima dell'Osservatorio, and Quarto San Lorenzo, offering breathtaking panoramic views to admire.
Midway through the hike, at the 9.02-kilometer mark, you will reach the wilderness hut Capanna Ghezzi, where you can take a break and enjoy some well-deserved rest. Finally, the highlight of the route is reaching the summit of Punta di Prato Pulito at the 10.22-kilometer mark, where you can revel in the sense of accomplishment and take in the majestic vistas surrounding you.
